Description
When I was kid, one of my favourite TV shows was a puppet show from the 1960's called Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, which told the story of the eponymous Captain Scarlet, an indestructible agent of SPECTRUM fighting against a race of alien invaders called the Mysterons. As much as I loved the show, my favourite part was always the end credits which showed an array of beautifully painted pictures showing Captain Scarlet in dangerous scenarios such as being trapped underneath rubble next to a bomb which was about to go off, or falling from the top of a skyscraper. But my favourite picture was always the one featuring the Captain being dropped into a tank of man-eating sharks. These stunning paintings were the work of a gentleman called Ron Embleton (1931-1988) and with the theme tune playing in the background, these pictures fired my imagination as much as the show itself. When I started drawing pics of Kim Possible a few years back, I always promised myself that one day I'd recreate my favourite Captain Scarlet image replacing the good Captain with the intrepid Miss Possible. Hope you guys like the result.
